Donggang City COVID-19 Situation

As of March 8, a new local asymptomatic infection case was reported in Donggang City, Dandong, Liaoning Province. The case is the mother of a previously reported asymptomatic carrier and has been under centralized medical observation since March 5. Routine nucleic acid testing conducted on March 5, 6, and 7 showed negative results.

1. Number of Confirmed Cases

Until June 7, according to reports from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, there were a total of 981 confirmed cases (including 39 severe cases) in Donggang City. A total of 218,258 cases have been cured and discharged, and 5,226 deaths have been reported.

2. Current COVID-19 Situation in Donggang City

As of June 20, a total of 1,718 confirmed cases have been reported in Donggang City, including 214 imported cases. A total of 1,696 cases have been discharged, and there have been 2 deaths. Currently, 20 cases (19 local cases and 1 imported case) are receiving treatment in hospitals. There are still 64 asymptomatic carriers under medical observation, of which 51 are local cases and 13 are imported cases.

3. Recent Update On Local COVID-19 Cases

On June 8, from 0-24 hours, Donggang City reported 5 new local positive cases, including 2 confirmed cases and 3 asymptomatic carriers. All cases were detected in quarantine facilities and had no recent social contact. Among the asymptomatic carriers, 9 have been identified as confirmed cases.

4. Recent Outbreak Situation

From May 24 to June 3, a total of 103 local asymptomatic carriers have been reported in Donggang City. Epidemiological investigations and virus gene sequencing results have shown that this round of outbreak is different from the previous one on April 24. It is characterized by multiple sources, sporadic cases, and short chains of transmission, which is consistent with the characteristics of an entry port city outbreak. Currently, community transmission is under control.

According to the latest information from the Donggang City CDC on June 7, from 0-24 hours, 5 new local asymptomatic carriers were reported, all of whom were detected in quarantine facilities without any recent social contact.
